Chivalry! Is it really dead?

So lately I’ve been hearing this phrase a lot, chivalry is dead. So I had to take a moment to pause and really think about what I was hearing. I mean after all, its like they say, if it’s the common consensus, then it must be true. But then I said to myself, before I start believing the hype, let me explore this situation a bit further. So after a few weeks of investigating and a personal experience of my own, that I’ll elaborate more on in a later blog, I’ve come to the conclusion that chivalry isn’t dead, yet its been forced into hiding. Men are afraid to be chivalrous and express their emotions, and treat the significant women in their lives with the respect, love and care that they deserve in fear that they’ll be called soft, punk, a pushover, or in my case weak. They in turn choose to “thug out” their women, whether it be their mothers, sisters, wives, girlfriends, or significant others. They feel that if they treat their women like crap, that in return the woman will see that they really and truly love them, because as we all know, you only really love something if you treat it like shit. Woman have been trained from young to ignore the boys that show them attention and make them little homemade Valentine’s Day cards, and in turn flock to the boy that is constantly pestering and bullying them, because that’s the one who really likes you. No one wants to be with someone that wants to be with them, that’s human nature isn’t it. So as these little girls get older, they stick to the same theme. For example, they’re told that when they walk into a room, don’t talk to the guys that are oohing and aahing at her presence in the room, but instead gravitate to the guy in the corner who’s aloof to her existence. Which brings me back to my original point, these women, now older, single and still searching for “Mr. Right”, when presented with a man who isn’t what they’re used to, which is to say, he isn’t beating their brains out every third Monday of the month, and isn’t cheating on them with every Pam, Liz, and Sally, and doesn’t have 10 kids with 9 baby mommas, then he’s a punk and soft and weak for telling her that she’s everything that he’s been looking for and more, and that he wants nothing more than to be with her. I don’t know about you guys, but if and when confronted with the option of being with treated like shit and being swept off of my feet, I’ll go with the option of being 10 feet off of the ground. So before you ladies go running around, spewing false truths out of your mouths, ask yourself this, is chivalry really dead, or did you just scare it away.
